In the case of compliance with regulations when it comes to network
IDs, you need to ensure that all IDs can be accounted for. A policy
might say that the creation of a new ID for employees has to be
authorized by human resources. IDs for temps and contractors must be
authorized by their department head and must have an expiration date.
Whatever your policy, it should be documented, distributed, and
reviewed and updated periodically.
